OUR STORY

Arohana was founded with a vision to create sustainable and inclusive rural development by empowering communities from within. Established in 2018 in Minijenahalli, Mulbagal Taluk, Kolar District, Arohana emerged out of a deep understanding of the challenges faced by rural India — water scarcity, limited access to education, and environmental degradation.

Led by an all-women Board of Directors, Arohana brings together passionate individuals committed to empowering women, conserving natural resources, and building resilient, self-reliant villages. What began as a small grassroots initiative has today evolved into a growing movement that integrates environmental sustainability, education, and community health to transform lives across rural Karnataka.

Three women are sitting on the ground near a colorful mural. One woman is wearing a red and green sari and is holding a cell phone. The other two women are seated next to a makeshift cooking area with metal pots, a gas cylinder, and wooden crates. The mural behind them is bright with abstract shapes and bold colors, featuring large bottle-like forms in teal and black.
